I don’t entirely agree that you are the sole creator of your life. Your programming has a lot to do with it. You navigate around what your programming is because that is all you know. And when one has not learned awareness or received help (from real friends or family members) to get to it, his life becomes difficult. When a child is emotionally and mentally battered, awareness is difficult to learn if not reached.

Parents, you have a sacred role in the lives of your children. What you give them can either make or break their lives.

What You Give Them

If you give them rejection, put-downs, discouragement, disrespect, lies, guilt-tripping, blackmailing, silent treatment, abandonment, and invalidation, you are destroying their being. You have the sacred role to uplift, encourage and support them to attain their full potential, not destroy them mentally, emotionally, physically, and financially. Most of all, spiritually.

However, if you give them unconditional love, time, attention, respect, and validation, they become the best of who they are. Giving them love makes their life becomes less burdensome. That love becomes the inner strength they need to navigate life.
